DAY 2 - FULL DAY TOUR OF THE WILD SOUTH (8 HOURS)

Early Breakfast at the hotel. Depart in the morning to the south of the island. Step by step, you will discover a land with changing landscapes. For centuries the sea and the rocks of the wild coast engaged in a titanic battle! All the plants covering south coast are abundantly watered by the tropical rains, giving these sites a wonderful exuberance.

DAY 3 – FULL DAY TOUR OF CILAOS (8 HOURS)

Early Breakfast at the hotel Cilaos is classified as a natural heritage site (UNESCO), the only one of the three cirques which has a round shape, in the shadow of the Piton des Neiges, the island’s highest summit at 3,071m, and this cirque is of unparalleled beauty. The town itself is a mountain resort with many sports on offer. The road to Cilaos has 400 turns where you will be impressed by the peaks, ridges and cliffs of this cirque during the various stops along the way. Arriving at Cilaos, you will admire the village surrounded by Salazie, Grand Benare and Piton des Neiges.

DAY 4 - FULL DAY TOUR OF SALAZIE & SAINT DENIS (8 HOURS)

Early Breakfast at the hotel. The Cirque of Salazie is the greenest and has the easiest access. The first aspect to captivate you is the sight of lush verdant mountainsides covered with strips of solidified volcanic ash over ten meters thick. A geological phenomenon dating back over 180,000 years. Further on, you will admire one of the island’s most stunning waterfalls, “La Voile de la Mariée”, which flows all year round down a hillside covered in chayote fruit and watercress. Arriving in Hellbourg, you will be instantly charmed by this village of pretty Creole houses. Full of flowers and lush vegetation, this picturesque scene is both wild and refined. The Piton d’Anchaing stands out in the middle of the cirque, a huge imposing rock separate from the rest – its outline looks a little like the silhouette of an ancestor resting in peace. Afternoon, visit of Saint Denis, the island’s largest town and the capital of Reunion from 1738. Its name originated in the East India Company of a ship. The ship arrived in 1667 after Bourbon Island (Reunion formerly) named the estuary of Saint Denis.

DAY 5 – FULL DAY TOUR OF THE VOLCANO (8 HOURS)

Early Breakfast at the hotel The “Piton de La Fournaise” the second most active volcano in the world. The road leading to the volcano winds its way up through Le Tampon and onto, the high plateaus of La Plaine des Cafres. You will be surprised as the scenery transforms into peaceful meadows with grazing cows and little volcanoes dotted around like animals frolicking in an alpine scene. The road carries on in wide loops up towards the Piton de la Fournaise. The total silence is apt for such a magical place. On the volcano road 8km from Bourg-Murat you will reach “Nezde Boeuf” which has one of the finest views over the “Riviere des Remparts”. Further on you will discover the “Cratere Commerson”, a site which is particularly spectacular. The visit of this volcanic dizzying chasm is a must for the discovery of La Fournaise. A 100 meters from this panel, a platform overlooking the deep overhanging precipice of more than 230 meters, for a diameter of about 200 meters. On the way to the volcano you will find “La Plaine des Sables”, covered in orangey-brown scorry and stretches out in front of you as if you had journeyed to the moon. The bumpy road lined with miniature bushes leads up to the Pas de Bellecombe. You have arrived! The volcano in front of you is dormant.

DAY 6 - THE “EXCELLENCE” OVERFLIGHT TOUR (55MINS)
